POD CORPS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Version 5.0, July 2005 Pod Corps FAQ Copyright (c)2005 Dream Pod 9, Inc. Send comments to (rdubois@dp9.com) 1) What is the Pod Corps? "Pod Corps" is the umbrella name for the various Dream Pod 9 demonstration teams. They go to stores and conventions and teach the various DP9 game lines to new players, and generally spread the word about the various DP9 worlds. 2) Who forms the Pod Corps? Dedicated and enthusiastic gamers who love the various Dream Pod 9 games and wish to contribute to their success. 3) Is there a Web site I can check? The address of the Pod Corps page is: http://www.dp9.com/Support/PodCorp.htm 4) We also have a Dream Pod 9 Forum at: http://www.dp9forum.com Become a member and let the moderator “John Buckmaster” know That you are a Pod Corps member as there is a special Pod Corps Section on the forum only accessible to members and moderators. 5) But what do the Pod Corps do, exactly? Pod Corps teams are listed on the main DP9 Web site (http://www.dp9.com). When a store or convention wants to put on a demonstration game of one of DP9's lines, all they have to do is check the list for the Pod Corps chapter nearest to their location and get in touch to organize a demo session. 6) Where do those demos take place? Generally in a local gaming store or convention. If individual Corps members feel up to it, demos can also be offered to local game clubs. 7) When do those demos take place? When the Pod Corps members are available to do them. The Pod Corps being a volunteer service, we cannot ask people to build their schedule around the demos. It is supposed to be a hobby, after all, not a career. ^_^ 8) How do I let people know when a demo is going to take place? When a demo has been schedules let Robert know at Dream Pod 9 rdubois@dp9.com and he will add to the upcoming demos page on the DP9 website. Also, post it on the Conventions and Demos listing on the Dream Pod 9 Forum “www.dp9forum.com” so everyone knows about it. 9) Why should I join the Pod Corps? Several reasons, actually. One, it helps us broaden our market and thus keeps us healthy and in business. If you like our games, you can see the advantage right away. ^_^ Two, it creates new DP9 players in your area, which makes it easier to find people to play with. Three, you get free products for your effort and may also benefit from advance information from time to time, such as playtest copies. Four, you are helping your local game store or convention attract more people and thus remain in business! Oh yes, and five, any true gamer will use any excuse he or she can get to play a great game. Demos, indeed! :) 10) What do I get out of it? The satisfaction of a job well done? ^_^'' We have a reward program in place that allows Pod Corps members to earn DP9 credits for time spent demoing the game. The amount of credits is directly related to the time spent demoing. The credits can then be used to buy any DP9 product, be it books, miniatures and whatever else we have in our store. 11) Sounds neat! How do I join the Pod Corps? We can always use more help! We've established a database to keep track of the volunteers and go with the resources we've put on the DP9 Web page (http://www.dp9.com/Support/PodCorp.htm). Please go take a look and read through all documentation. We'll need up-to-date information to keep track of who's doing what, so we need to confirm the following information with you: - Name - Street Address - City - State/Province - Country - ZIP/Postal Code - Phone/Fax (optional) - Email (preferred contact address) - Pod Corps Web site URL (optional -- if available) - Chapter Name (use nearest large population center) Send your email to to be registered on the DP9 page (place "Pod Corps" in the subject line). Everything stays strictly confidential, and you can ask to be removed from the list at any time, no questions asked. We need your complete information (address, email, etc.), though only your name and email will appear on the actual Web page. Thanks for your help -- it's greatly appreciated! 12) But what if I want *out*? Simply send us an email and we'll remove you from the demo team list. That's it. No questions asked, no strings attached. : ) Thanks for your interest!
