Heavy Gear Blitz! is Dream Pod 9's newest tactical miniatures game and the newest way to play in the award-winning Heavy Gear setting.

Heavy Gear Blitz was designed as a major overhaul of the Heavy Gear Tactical Miniatures Rules with an emphasis on making the rules clearer, more balanced, and -overall- more fun to play.

 

New to Heavy Gear?

For new players looking to try Heavy Gear Blitz, there are several great ways to get started. We have a Quick Start Rules booklet available as a free download to let you get an idea of the basic mechanics of the game. The same Quick Start Rules are available as part of three Starter Army Box Sets (for the North, South, and Peace River factions) or the full rules can be purchased in four formats: Printed in Softcover, Hardcover or Deluxe (full-color interior) binding, or as a PDF from Drive Thru RPG.

Those interested in learning more about the deep and vibrant setting of Heavy Gear can use the links to the right to read a brief overview of the settings. Heavy Gear was originally created as a hybrid Role Playing and Tactical Game and retains a depth and story not seen in many wargame settings.

What is Heavy Gear Blitz?

Heavy Gear Blitz is a tactical miniatures game or wargame. Like a traditional board game, players take turns making decisions that can lead to victory or defeat. Unlike a traditional board game, each player can customize their army with countless choices to suit their own tactical preferences.

New to Wargames?

We realize many may have seen our games in stores or become interested after playing the two Heavy Gear computer games. If you're new to tabletop miniatures games Heavy Gear Blitz is an excellent place to start with easy to learn but tactically complex rules, great miniatures, and an active forum community.

Taking another Look at Heavy Gear?

If you've played Heavy Gear in the past you may wonder what makes Heavy Gear Blitz different from previous editions. This new game uses familiar concepts and dice mechanics from Silhouette and SilCORE but the rules have been rewritten from the ground up to make the game play faster and more exciting than before.

While new miniatures are released regularly, including vehicles never represented in miniature form such as the Black Cat Stealth Gear and brand new designs like the Cataphract, previous 1/144 scale miniatures are still supported and we offer packs of weapons and accessories to make it easy to upgrade or customize your force.

The newest rule book, Heavy Gear Blitz: Locked & Loaded, includes the following:

• The core Heavy Blitz rules.
• Rules for generating scenarios and incorporating support such as artillery, air strikes, and bunkers.
• Field Guides for the North, South, Peace River, Leagueless (Independents, Bandits, and Mercenaries), and Port Arthur Korp factions, with variants and special forces for each.
• Datacards for over 90 units.
• A summary and time line of the Heavy Gear Storyline, with hints at upcoming chapters.
