Damocles Artillery Strider 3D Model Preview!

Today we have a surprise for the Northern faction players of Heavy Gear Blitz and the Heavy Gear 4th Edition RPG. We introduce a new 3D modeler, Duymon to the Dream Pod 9 team. His first project with DP9 is the Northern Damocles Artillery Strider, which is built from the Mammoth Assault Strider chassis with a massive KLG-675 Artillery GUN (HAG) mounted on top. Duymon also made a detailed cockpit with the pilot and gunner and closed or open hatch parts and did an amazing job. Plus he made the Damocles A2 variant with poseable Arms, which lead to the DP9 Team discussing possible new variant options. This is the fun part where ideas are brainstormed and which lead to the new Damocles A2 Standoff and Bombard variants. The Standoff variant uses the arms to hold an Apex Heavy Frag Cannon (HFC) and a big Apex Heavy Vibro Axe (HVB). While the Bombard variant replaces the lower arms with linked Light Field Guns (LFGs Link). We’ll be doing tests prints of the Damocles 3d printed parts this week and then get one assembled and painted. Once that’s done we’ll take photos and get the black box cover sheet made. Our goal is to have the Damocles up for sale around May 23rd, 2025. We’ll do another post to show everyone the painted Damocles when its available to purchase on the DP9 Online Store. Next on the projects for Duymon is the Northern Mammoth Strider and Tony Baltera is currently finishing up the Dark Mamba 3d model.
