We’ve had a few requests to know what Facebook Groups are out there for the various DP9 game systems and universes. DP9 post regularly to its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DreamPod9 and has a few groups it takes care of, like our Pod Squad demo teams with the main group called Pod Squad and sub-groups for different locations like Japan and others. We also post all Dream Pod 9 news to the our website at www.dp9.com and to our Forum at www.dp9forum.com. The DP9 Forum is also the official place to discuss rules, both new (Friday Feedback) and old for our various games.…
Our sculptor, Philippe F. LeClerc, finished up the Chibi Exo for the Golden Exo 2019 Trophies at the end of June. He decided to make a cute Chibi Ryu Exo from the Jovian Wars Venus faction for our first years trophy. Then all the parts were given to Fusion Models to make silicone molds for resin casting and copies were made, which we picked up this week. We took photos of the grey resin parts, black resin base, and small Golden Exo 2019 plates we got made, before assembling the Exo and spray painting it gold. You can checkout them out below, along…

We received the final test pops of the plastic robots sprues for the Utopia, Peace River, and NuCoal plastic injection molds this week. The test pops are looking pretty good, we took photos of all the robot sprues front and back to show everyone how they look. These test pops were made by the mold manufacturer in Taiwan using a dark grey polystyrene hard plastic, we plan for our final production run to use a light grey polystyrene. Check out the images below with Utopia Commando Armiger & Drone, Utopia Recce Armiger & Drone, Utopia Support Armiger & Drone, Peace River Warrior & Warrior IV, Peace River Skirmisher & Crusader IV, NuCoal Chasseur & Cuirassier, and NuCoal Jerboa & Chevalier test sprue photos.
We’ll take the time this weekend to clip the parts off the sprues, and glue together each of the new plastic Utopia, Peace River, and NuCoal minis to check if there are any issues. And take lots of photos for another Kickstarter update early next week of the assembled plastic minis. If all is good we plan to approve the Utopia, Peace River, and NuCoal plastic injection molds next week. Then they will be shipped from Taiwan to Vancouver, Canada by sea and then on to the plastics manufacturer we’ll be using here in Montreal by rail and truck. We’ll make more Kickstarter updates as the shipping and plastics manufacturing progresses.
HGB Kickstarter Update: Peace River Uhlan Strider Assembled Resin Miniature and Resin Parts Photos – Plus Plastic Injection Mold News!
Its been a while since our last Peace River & NuCoal Kickstarter Update. This last week Alain over at Fusion Models finished up the silicone molds for resin casting of the Uhlan Strider parts and made the first copy for us. Today we have photos of an assembled Uhlan Strider resin miniature and all its resin parts to show. We’ll be giving the Uhlan over to Phil this weekend to get it all painted up and then we’ll do another update to show everyone how it turns out. Alain is now working on the Gilgamesh Tank for Utopia getting all its parts cleaned and prepped for making its large silicone molds.
We also have some news on the plastic injection molds, we`ve been going back and forth for the last few months with the company in Taiwan that is making the molds. Doing test pops of the plastic robot sprues, finding problems and getting them fixed, then doing new test pops, its all part of the manufacturing process. We think that the molds are ready and a final set of test plastic pops was made and sent out last week. We should receive them early this coming week here in Canada to checkout. If everything is good we’ll approve the molds and take photos and make big update for everyone. Then the molds will be shipped to Vancouver, Canada by sea freight and then by rail and truck to the company here in Montreal that will be popping the plastic sprues for us.
We still have a few Backers that need to login to the DP9 Pledge Manager, update their accounts and select their reward levels and any add-ons, we`ll be messaging them to do so via Kickstarter in the coming days.
